Today is Saturday, April 9, 2022. More evidence of tampering with legitimate election results from the 2020 election are contained in explosive texts just released from the son of the former dictator-in-waiting to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. These texts were sent as votes were being tallied in the 50 states – before Joe Biden was declared the victor in the race. Dumpf, Jr. texted Meadows that “we have operational control” to ensure the Orange Blob would get a second term, with repugnican majorities in the U.S. Senate and swing state legislatures, CNN has learned.

In the text, Donnie, Jr. lays out ideas for keeping his father in power by subverting the Electoral College process, according to the message reviewed by CNN. The text is among records obtained by the House Select Committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021. On November 5, Don, Jr. texted Meadows, “It’s very simple. We have multiple paths. We control them all.”

The strategy outlined in the November 5 text message is nearly identical to what allies of the former president attempted to carry out in the months that followed, including filing lawsuits and advocating recounts to prevent certain swing states from certifying their results, as well as having a handful of Republican state houses put forward slates of fake “Trump electors.” If all of this failed, according to the Donnie, Jr. text, GOP lawmakers in Congress could simply vote to reinstall Dumpf as President on January 6.

This new evidence of trying to subvert the democratic process shows how those closest to Dumpf were already exchanging ideas for how to overturn the election months before the January 6 insurrection – and before all of the votes were even counted. This could be quite damning for Dumpf and his loyalists as the House Select Committee adds it to its impressive dossier on the failed coup d’etat right here in the United States.

To propel their outrageous plan forward, Dumpf and his allies eventually filed more than 60 – let’s say it again, 60 – frivolous lawsuits in key states, failing to convince the courts that his claims about a stolen election were justified or uncover any evidence of widespread voter fraud. Dumpf and his unpatriotic allies also called for various recounts based on those same unfounded voter fraud claims. This forced a number of states to waste time and money on conducting recounts in the months after the election, though none of them revealed any fraud substantial enough to have changed the outcome of the vote in any state.

The text also reveals Donnie, Jr’s preview of a strategy to supplant authentic electors with fake Republican electors in a handful of states. That plan was eventually orchestrated and carried out by supporters of the would-be autocrat and overseen by his personal lapdog, Rudy Giuliani.

Included in these text messages to Meadows were some suggestions by the would-be autocrat’s son to initiate some personnel moves in order to solidify his father’s control over the government by putting loyalists in key jobs and initiate investigations into the Biden family – always the Biden family, as it used to be Hillary Clinton bearing the scorn of this criminal family.

Donnie, Jr. mentions the firing of FBI Director Christopher Wray and White House coronavirus adviser Anthony Fauci, who was not considered enough of a lackey for Dumpf. Wray was sharply criticized by Dumpf and his acolytes for failing to produce information that they claimed would be harmful to the President’s political enemies, including Biden. CNN has reported previously that the prospect of Dumpf firing Wray hung over the FBI for weeks, dating to before Election Day.

The appearance of this new text should outrage all decent Americans who have grown weary of all of the Sturm und Drang arising from the ex-president’s refusal to cede the election to the legitimate victor. If nothing short of criminal indictments against the Teflon Don and his allies result from this new damning evidence of a plot to overturn the election, then we are definitely destined to repeat this scenario in the near future.

Reaction to these texts from Dumpf opponents was swift and condemnatory. Democratic U.S. Rep. Ted Lieu, who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, suggested the texts are evidence of conspiracy. Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner called the texts evidence of “treasonous criminality.” The former prosecutor utters what is on the lips of most Americans, “How long do we have to endure this open, treasonous criminality by Trump and company before someone gets indicted?” Harvard Law School’s Laurence Tribe called the evidence “a smoking rifle.” Richard Painter, chief White House ethics lawyer during George W. Bush’s administration, said the texts are evidence of “an attempted putsch.” Painter posted this on Twitter: “He belongs in the slammer!” Hell, yes, he does!
