Coronavirus Diary

Today is Saturday, June 25, 2022. The country is still reeling from the gut punch delivered yesterday by the Supreme Court yesterday as it overturned the right to receive an abortion for millions of women. As I’ve stated many times before, it’s one evil person in Congress whom we must point to as the architect of this overturning of an almost fifty-year precedent and that person is Mitch McConnell who has done as much as any repugnican leader to transform the composition of the court in the last decade or so. We all must thank this octogenarian for dictating his conservative views on so many young American women. Antiabortion activists are celebrating the decision across the land, even though 63 percent of all Americans did not want this fundamental right to be overturned. We have awoken in a country where the tyranny of a vocal and powerful minority has gained dominance over the majority of citizens in this country. This week’s rulings on both abortion and gun rights have cemented the court’s new conservative majority as a staggeringly formidable force in American life – one with the audacity to make far-reaching change. As terrible as I want to acknowledge it, this court decision on abortion will be now be considered the actual legacy of the ethically challenged president before Joe Biden. It’s just so inexplicable that a supremely flawed character like Dumpf will be remembered for spurring this historic ruling after appointing three right-wing extremists to the bench. I just pray that all Democrats – moderate, centrist, and far left – will now unite behind putting abortion on the ballot in November and punishing repugnicans for this retrograde step in the life of all Americans.

Some good news amidst all of this disheartening news is that RawStory has an online article on my smartphone in which it is predicted that Dumpf’s lawyers could be the first to be indicted due to the January 6th hearings, as reported in a column for Politico. So these controversial and lunatic figures could be the first major players in the former president’s orbit to be hit with criminal conspiracy charges, which will not sit well with Fat Ass Dumpf. Those individuals could include John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani, Sydney Powell, Jenna Ellis, and Jeffrey Clark, all people worthy of being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, in my humble opinion. These supposed arbiters of jurisprudence that have taken an oath to tell the truth all violated that oath when they blatantly lied to further Dumpf’s outrageous plot to keep him in office four more years – and beyond. They all should be charged with crimes associated with this scheme to overturn the 2020 election. And if they are indicted, as you know, authorities need only one to turn against the Don and provide evidence of his knowledge of all of this.

Tomorrow is the first live Pride Parade in the city since 2019, I believe, and I hope to participate in it. It’s going to be a hot day tomorrow, with temperatures in the mid-80s. Let’s hope that’s the only thing that is hot.

Have a great Sunday.

Stay safe and be well.
