Today is Monday, October 24, 2022. To hammer home the illegitimacy of the current Supreme Court, we have the despicable action of the worst justice on the bench, Clarence Thomas, who voted to block his devious pal, Senator “Lady” Graham from offering testimony in Georgia over the 2020 election investigation. How more partisan could Thomas’s act be! Many voices in the judicial sphere have called for this partisan justice to recuse himself from anything doing with the former president, but here he decides to do just the opposite. I think this is an outrage and should be called out for what it is: an intervention from a Supreme Court justice to help a friend avoid the inevitable. People on Twitter immediately took to the platform and voiced their disgust at such an obvious move from Thomas to aid a worthless senator. This new development in the Lindsey Graham saga is covered in an online article for The List by Callie McGuire entitled “Clarence Thomas Just Used His Powers to Help Lindsey Graham and Twitter Isn’t Having It.”

The history of the latest controversial decision by the longest-running justice sitting on the bench today stems from his 1991 confirmation hearings when Anita Hill made strong allegations of sexual harassment against him, but he was still confirmed anyway. Just like one of Dumpf’s most recent picks, Brett Kavanaugh, who survived a contentious confirmation hearing after being challenged by Christine Blasey Ford of sexually assaulting her in the 1980s.

In Thomas’s case, the spotlight has been focused more recently on his deranged wife, Virginia (Ginni) Thomas, who has openly worked to overturn the 2020 election, along with other Dumpf allies.

Ginni Thomas has been questioned about the January 6 insurrection by the House Select Committee. The Washington Post has reported that Ginni texted former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows 29 times after the 2020 presidential election. The texts were judged to be unhinged, to say the fucking least, as one message stated, “Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators . . . are being arrested & detained for ballot fraud right now . . . & will be living in barges off GITMO to face military tribunals for sedition.” In September, the unhinged wife of a sitting Supreme Court Justice supposedly used her influence to pressure lawmakers in Arizona and Wisconsin to overturn Joe Biden’s presidential win in 2020, as reported in The Washington Post.

So with this horrible baggage of his own wife believing irrationally that Dumpf was still president, you would think that Thomas would definitely recuse himself from any decisions regarding the former fake president. It did not matter, as Thomas today blocked a court order for Lindsey Graham’s testimony to a grand jury investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The Twitterverse responded in kind to this obvious unfair decision handed down by Thomas. One upset user wrote, “Clarence Thomas has intervened and is helping Senator Lindsey Graham avoid his subpoena. A new low for America.” Another user wrote, “HOLD ON – Clarence Thomas, someone whose wife plotted to overturn the 2020 election, just blocked a Georgia grand jury subpoena seeking testimony from Lindsey Graham related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election? And this is just somehow ok?”

TV host Mehdi Hasan tweeted, “How on earth is Clarence Thomas allowed to rule on anything 2020 election-related??” Legal expert Laurence Tribe posted, “Justice Thomas violated 28 USC 455, requiring any ‘justice’ to recuse when his or her ‘impartiality might reasonably be questioned’ or his or her ‘spouse is known by the justice to have an interest that could be substantially affected by the outcome.'” If this doesn’t adequately capture the unsavory efforts of Ginni Thomas to subvert the rule of law regarding the 2020 election, then there is no clear case for Thomas to recuse himself. Shame on you, Mr. Thomas. Maybe you should get a real dressing-down by Justice Roberts as to how bad your decision appears to the well-informed American who is aware of the madness coming out of the January 6th investigation, which certainly involves the wife of this very supercilious justice who is showing his true arrogance in this case.

A related story to the news regarding Thomas and his intervention in Graham’s subpoena to testify in Georgia about his alleged role in aiding his orange-haired pal to overturn election results in that state appears in an online RawStory article by Julia Conley entitled ‘An affront to justice’: Clarence Thomas under fire after shielding Lindsey Graham from subpoena.”

So because of Thomas’s terrible decision today, progressive have repeated calls for a federal investigation into Thomas and his wife, right-wing activist Ginni Thomas, after the judge unilaterally granted a request to shield Graham from a summons regarding the 2020 election.

Thomas went through with his decision, even though the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit ruled last week that “Lady” Graham should be required to testify before a grand jury about phone calls he made to Georgia election officials, in which Graham allegedly asked Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger if he could reject certain absentee ballots to secure a more favorable outcome for his golf buddy, then-president Dumpf. Sounds like election interference to my untrained eyes, no?

Critics of Thomas’s decision now contend that Thomas’s ruling indicates the kind of conflict of interest that he has been accused of as his wife’s involvement in spreading the “Big Lie” that the election was “stolen” from Dumpf has been well disseminated.

Emily C. Singer, a reporter at The American Independent, said flatly, “Clarence Thomas should not be ruling on any 2020 election-related case given his wife’s behavior. Period. Full stop.”

The dubious ruling sparked renewed outrage from groups that advocate for the expansion of the Supreme Court.

An advocacy group, Demand Justice, said in a statement, “This out of control Supreme Court must be reined in.” This group advocates for the expansion of the high court.

Grassroots group Stand Up America called for the unilateral decision “an affront to justice and democracy.”

Christian Harvey, the group’s executive director, fumed, “Once again, Clarence Thomas is attempting to throw up a roadblock to investigations into the criminal conspiracy to overthrow the 2020 election. If the court is to ever restore its credibility, it must be held to the same ethical standards as lower courts and four seats must be added to counterbalance the power of shameless, unethical partisans like Justice Thomas.” It will be interesting to see if there is more demand now from Democrats to expand the court, given the taint of Clarence Thomas on it.

In a more lighter note, Senator Ted “Ooze” got blown away by protestors at “The View” today in which a number of audience members booed and screamed at him as he was peddling lies about inflation and how the House and the Senate will be placed in repugnicans’ hands in November. Host Whoopi Goldberg exhorted the protestors to stop shouting and eventually the women returned to interviewing the odious senator. Also, the Dumpf sycophant was loudly booed at Yankee Stadium today as he was seen attending Game 3 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS), in which the Yankees played against the Houston Astros. As he was seen leaving the stadium, some Bronx critics of the Texas senator booed and cursed him. One angry attendee shouted, “Go back to Cancun.” This was an undisguised reference to Cruz’s misguided trip to Cancun in the middle of Texas’s February cold snap in 2021 when over 100 Texans froze to death. He was roundly blasted for this measure taken during a wintry disaster in his state. It certainly seems that the chubby senator is not liked in New York at all. Boy, do I stand with New Yorkers here in their antipathy to the repugnican senator.
