Coronavirus Diary

Today is Thursday, February 9, 2023. Just when you thought he was sulking in the shadows, special counsel Jack Smith has surfaced today, subpoenaing former Vice President Mike Pence in his ongoing investigation of his psychopathic boss for his role in the January 6th insurrection, a source familiar with the matter told CNN. This breaking news is brought to you by an online article for CNN by Kaitlan Collins entitled “Pence subpoenaed by special counsel investigating Trump.” This unprecedented development has been reported on MSNBC and other news outlets this evening.

Special counsel Smith’s office is seeking documents and testimony related to January 6, the source said. They want Pence to testify about his interactions with Dumpf leading up to the 2020 election and the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol. ABC News first reported on the subpoena. Are we finally getting closer to an indictment of the former president here with the subpoenaing of Pence at this stage of the investigation? We can only hope.

CNN previously reported that months of negotiations preceded the subpoena to the former lapdog of Dumpf, in case you were wondering what Jack Smith’s office was doing all this time.

As for the second psychopath in Congress, whose name is allegedly George Santos, the unrepentant liar was seen jousting with Senator Mitt Romney during President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday. Romney reputedly started the tiff with his newbie pathological liar of a Congresmember when he told the Long Island/Queens representative, “You don’t belong here,” when he walked past. Not shying from controversy, Santos retorted to the senior senator that he won election in his North Shore district, with about 142,000 votes in the midterm elections. Two things Santos failed to mention here in this dry recitation of fact are that people voted for an imposter in the final analysis, and two, many of his constituents definitely don’t want him representing them for two years. Many have protested his remaining in Congress since his election victory. These details are covered in a Daily News article by Dave Goldiner entitled “State of disunion: Santos continues fight with Romney, jabs at his religion.”

Demonstrating further how psychotic he truly is and is possessed of nary a shred of shame, Santos lobbed this dagger at the head of Romney after the elder statesman from Utah and former Republican Party’s nominee for president of the United States in the 2012 election called Santos, “You’re an asshole.” Now Santos shot back, “You’re a bigger asshole,” without missing a beat. Here Santos would not relent in his continuing assault on Romney when he taunted Romney that former president Dumpf has a better chance of becoming president than him. This marks Santos truly as a fabulist if he thinks his insurrectionist strongman has a good chance of winning the presidency in 2024.

Romney thought that Santos should have sulked in the back of the chamber if he possessed enough self-respect so as to keep a low profile during such a serious event. He later added, “He should be sitting in the back row and staying quiet instead of parading in front of the president and people coming into the room.” This is what Santos precisely did not do. He almost brushed against President Biden when Biden walked past him and avoided shaking hands or exchanging words with him.

Another critic of Santos is fellow Long Island Rep. Nick LaLota, who decried Santos as a “sociopath,” and said he should step down for his own good. On CNN, LaLota said, “It’s become an embarrassment and a distraction to the Republicans in the House.” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-Bronx), another critic of the allegedly gay representative, tweeted that “Gaslighting is a George Santos speciality.”

The response from Santos to Torres’s barbed remark is totally disgusting, as he complained, “Stop obsessing over me,” in an apparent reference to both of the representatives’ homosexual orientation. Here Santos accuses Torres of paying too much attention to him. In this situation, Santos is just accusing Torres of openly desiring him as a gay man. To me, this is just pathetic.

Thus we have a shameless paragon of unethical behavior in the form of George Santos who has been given undeserved freedom to pursue his mysterious agenda by the Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy. This in the midst of state and federal authorities who are investigating Santos’s potentially illegal campaign financial disclosures. It’s anyone’s guess then how long Santos will stay in Congress, given how loud the voices are of his many detractors. It would be nice if he can be ousted because of his true illegitimacy as a representative of Congress.

Just as there was continuing blowback against George Santos, there was Republican blowback against Arkansas Governor Sarah “Fuckabee” Sanders’ response to President Joe Biden’s SOTU address. If Republican supporters of disgraced former president Dumpf can criticize Sanders’ speech, then it has to be particularly bad – which it certainly was.

Sanders, as you might recall, served as Dumpf’s White House press secretary before she left her position to go back to Arkansas. Her speech largely focused on repugnican culture war issues, accusing Biden of surrendering his presidency to a “woke mob that can’t even tell you what a woman is.” What utter nonsense this statement is! No wonder some repugnican muckamucks panned Sanders’ meandering speech that was big on fucking shit. She didn’t hesitate to wallow in the Dumpf form of projection where she accused the left of exactly what the far right is doing right now, in states like Florida and Texas. She whined, “Most Americans simply want to live their lives in freedom and peace, but we are under attack in a left-wing[no, “right-wing”] culture war we didn’t start and never wanted to fight. Every day, we are told that we must partake in their rituals [what fucking rituals is she referring to here?], salute their flags, and worship their false idols [you mean, Donald Trump here as the right-wing’s false Golden Idol], all while big government colludes with Big Tech to strip away the most American thing there is – your freedom of speech. That’s not normal. It’s crazy, and it’s wrong.” Here Sanders is really describing the MAGA wing of her crazy party very well. Steve Bannon, the architect of Dumpf’s 2016 election win, actually criticized Sanders for not mentioning Dumpf’s name. Who cares if she did mention the Orange Fiend’s name in her terrible address? Bannon even called her speech “terrible,” which is exactly right.

Former Republican strategist Steve Schmidt got it right when he accused Sanders of “abusing” viewers with MAGA lies.” Schmidt laced into the dowdy governor, saying, “It was an ugly speech from a lying governor who is unfit for any type of public service.” Case closed!

Stay safe and be well.
