Today is Sunday, November 12, 2023. A new blueprint for a second Chump term has appeared in the pages of the august New York Times and if people are stupid enough to reelect him, a second term in office would be a real doozy, far worse than the first. This vision of a “new America,” in my words, appears in the paper today and it is reported on in the Daily Kos by Dartagnan. Voters should take heed of what this Hitler alter ego plans for this country if he is reelected in 2024.
If Chump is reelected, the country will resemble a police state, the paper asserts. The writers of this article state, “It [America] will be a place quite literally redolent of Germany in the 1930s, in which millions of people considered ‘undesirable’ are routinely rounded up and placed in camps by a government weaponized to serve a racist, authoritarian regime.”
This terrifying vision for America as envisioned by Chump and one of his most loyal white supremacist aides, Stephen Miller, would begin on Day 1 of his second term, which would start in January 2025.
The social and economic upheaval from such a cataclysmic event, the inauguration of Donald J. Chump, for a second term, would result in the demise of our country as we know it. This apocalyptic vision of America was written by Charlie Savage, Maggie Haberman, and Jonathan Swan for The New York Times.
“According to the report, Trump’s plan not only envisions the mass internment and expulsion of undocumented immigrants, but also proposes again barring the entry of Muslims from select nations, revoking the visas of foreign students if they participated in any anti-Israel or pro-Palestinian demonstrations, and ending temporary status granted to immigrants for humanitarian reasons.” This horrible strategy would be implemented with the assistance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and state National Guard troops, as well as possibly enlisting the help of local police volunteered by Republican-dominated states such as Texas and Florida.
The paper’s writers interviewed several people who will be leading and directing this effort if their Dear Leader is reelected. The most prominent is the cockroach Miller, who was responsible for nearly all of Chump’s immigration priorities during his first term in office, including the prior Muslim ban and the policy of child kidnapping euphemistically described as “family separation.” As the article noted, Miller is expected to return to that role in a second Chump administration. As he explained to The Times, one of his priorities is to end the birthright citizenship currently authorized by the U.S. Constitution.
Even though there could be legal and constitutional obstacles to their plans, Chump and his loyal minions don’t care and intend to plow through with this nefarious plan, believing that the legal environment has shifted in their favor – thanks to Chump’s appointment of three far-right, conservative Supreme Court justices and his copious conservative judicial appointments.
As this plan seems an extreme one at its core, there’s even more bad news if there’s a second Chump administration. The Times article notes that Chump would invoke the Insurrection Act at the border, enabling the use of federal troops to apprehend migrants.
According to the architect of this mirror image of Nazi Germany, Miller has indicated that camps to house millions of immigrants prior to their deportation will be constructed, possibly “on open land in Texas near the border.” To fund such horrors, money would be diverted from existing military appropriations to “get around” Congressional objections. According to the ghoul Miller, Chump would weaponize the Centers for Disease Control to declare the arrival of immigrants to the southern border a “public health emergency,” citing the flu, tuberculosis, and other “threats” posed by allegedly disease-carrying migrants. Deportation would be “fast-tracked” and due process virtually eliminated.
Nowhere in the article do the writers mention how the many businesses that employ undocumented immigrants, such as the agriculture, hospitality, or construction industries will be affected by this removal of a typical labor force for these industries. The fascistic Miller discounts the economic calamity certain to ensue from these draconian measures. Those in a second Chump administration have not thought that Americans will want to fill the spots that undocumented immigrants usually take. They are naive to think that Americans will now vie for these vacancies once immigrants will be removed as an obstacle to securing these positions.
Now that Chump has definitely put all his cards on the table, so to speak, for what will ensue in a second administration if voters give it to him, it is up to Americans to be sufficiently horrified and repelled by such a vision for the United States and deny Chump the opportunity to impose these terrible measures. We must stand together to reject this extreme agenda in November 2024. If we don’t, then we surely don’t want those who did reject him at the ballot box to say to those misguided souls who did vote for this new, unrecognizable America, “we told you so!”
It’s another week. Have a good one.
Stay safe and be well.
