Today is Monday, December 18, 2023. Here we go again! The two Georgia election workers who successfully sued Rudy Giuliani for defamation on Friday have sued him again, asking a federal judge to permanently prohibit him from lying about them. You go, girls! This not-very-surprising move by these two courageous election workers is covered in an online CNN article by Katelyn Polantz entitled “Former Georgia election workers are Rudy Giuliani again, asking judge to permanently stop him from lying about them.”
The lawsuit has come about as the “Ghoul” has continued to make false statements about their work as absentee ballot counters in the 2020 election. In their new lawsuit, this statement was written, ”Defendant Giuliani continues to spread the very same lies for which he has already been held liable. Defendant Giuliani’s statements, coupled with his refusal to agree to refrain from continuing to make such statements, make clear that he intends to persist in his campaign of targeted defamation and harassment. It must stop.”
And indeed it will – with the filing of this new grenade against the truth-challenged former consigliere of the new wanna-be dictator. ”The new lawsuit represents the latest round of fallout facing the former New York mayor because of his legal work for Donald Trump after the 2020 election – and comes as Giuliani continues to be buried in debt and legal proceedings.” He is also headed to trial for criminal charges in Georgia, where he’s pleaded not guilty, related to his 2020 election work for Chump.
Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman’s lawsuit seeks a permanent injunction from the federal court in Washington, D.C., to be placed on Giuliani that would prohibit him “from making or publishing, or causing to be made or published, further statements repeating any and all false claims” that the mother and daughter during the 2020 election ballot counting “engaged in election fraud, illegal activity or misconduct of any kind,” according to the filing.
The judge in the case, Beryl Howell of the DC District Court, signed off on the terms of the final judgment this evening. As for when the two women may expect to collect the judgment against Giuliani, it could be very soon. Moss and Freeman’s attorneys have told the court they would like to collect money and claim his assets as soon as possible and not wait for a 30-day delay that is automatic in cases like these.
One of those lawyers, John Langford, told this to Erin Burnett of CNN after the verdict, “We are going to work very, very hard to ensure that they see every bit of money that Mr. Giuliani has available to him to pay and satisfy this judgment.”
Even though the disbarred attorney is pleading poverty, the lawyers for the women have identified “substantial assets” Giuliani has in New York and Florida, including bank accounts, a condo in south Florida and a New York City co-op, according to another court filing following the jury verdict.
And just recently, the Ghoul acknowledged he had reached an agreement to host (who the hell would watch him now? I seriously wonder) a show on a streaming channel affiliated with the right-wing network Newsmax, which could contribute to his income, in addition to earnings from podcasting and other public appearances.
The two plaintiffs told the court Monday that they are concerned Giuliani may try to shield some of his wealth, so they want to claim some of his assets as soon as this week. I favor this strategy too. Let them go after the Ghoul’s assets as soon as possible; it’s best not to wait in this situation.
The court action on Monday notes that Giuliani still hadn’t even paid Moss and Freeman for reimbursements they won earlier for their attorneys’ fees. Giuliani is still facing additional fees of $1.4 million from another law firm that sued him for this amount in unpaid legal bills as well. That’s on top of other debts the former New York mayor has disclosed publicly, such as tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid phone bills and litigation costs, some of which the Dear Leader has helped him with.
A bankruptcy partner at the law firm Wilkie Farr & Gallagher, Jennifer Hardy, told CNN today that “If he does not file for bankruptcy, he will continue to be indebted to them, until he can pay it off.” Unless he croaks first! Now I think Giuliani wishes this event would come first rather than him being indebted to these two black women for the rest of his unnatural, miserable life!
No one should have any sympathy for this vile character who has fallen off such a high cliff after he decided to cast his fortunes with the Orange Turd who embodies the adage, “Everything I touch turns to shit!”
I’m just happy that one person associated with Chump’s baseless lies about the 2020 election will now face some accountability for his part in this sorry affair.
Stay safe and be well.
