Coronavirus Diary

Today is Monday, May 27, 2024, Memorial Day 2024. Ever the egomaniac, selfish son of a bitch that he is, the former president used this solemn holiday principally to honor fallen military members with a rant aimed at “human scum,” including judges presiding over several of the insurrectionist’s trials. This unhinged rant is covered in an online HuffPost article by Paige Lavender entitled “Trump Commemorates Memorial Day With Unhinged Rant Targeting ‘Human Scum.'”

In a “Truth” Social post, Trump specifically called out Judge Arthur Engoron, who presided over Dump’s fraud trial, and Judge Juan Merchan, who is currently presiding over his election interference trial. In his raving diatribe, Drumpf also alluded to Judge Lewis Kaplan, who oversaw the civil rape trial and defamation trial brought by the writer E. Jean Carroll. The aging writer didn’t escape the bastard’s ire either. In his venomous opening, he cites the “human scum” who are working very hard to destroy our once great country. I’m sure he’s referring to the judges who presided over his many trials ending in judgments against his sorry white ass.

This type of sorry ranting is fairly standard for the standard Reputin nominee for president, and it’s not the first time he’s used a holiday as an opportunity to attack his many perceived opponents.

To remind everyone, on January 1, 2019, Trumpf wished a happy New Year to “THE HATERS AND THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA!” Sorry, these are his caps, not mine. In a message posted to Truth Social on December 25, Dump told several of his opponents to “ROT IN HELL,” while wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas to all.”

In the past, the Orange Turd’s assaults have led to threats against the judges in his trials. In February, Engoron received a letter with white powder in his chambers. Before that, Engoron and his staff received physical threats and messages sparked by Drumpf’s criticism, according to court records.

The pathological liar’s attacks have led to gag orders and bond conditions limiting what he can say in several of the cases against him.

Oh, and to get back at the tub of lard for releasing such an unhinged rant at his foe, E. Jean Carroll, who successfully won her defamation suit against him last May, as I recall, it’s already been reported that her aggressive lawyer says a new lawsuit could be “on the table” after his Memorial Day diatribe. So for not shutting his foul mouth, Drumpf could face a third lawsuit brought against him by the woman who he was found to have sexually assaulted. It’s all good! Bring on another suit, baby!

Contrast the infantile, raging bullshit released online by a former deranged president with the behavior of President Joe Biden who commemorated Memorial Day as a sitting president should: marking the day with remarks made at Arlington National Cemetery, where he marked the solemn and personal occasion by thanking those killed (notice that Drumpf never, ever mentions those killed in action during our world wars) while serving their country in the name of democracy around the world.

During his annual Memorial Day Address, Biden said, “Freedom has never been guaranteed – every generation has to earn it, fight for it, defend it in battle between autocracy and democracy, between the greed of a few and the rights of many. It matters, our democracy is more than just a system of government. It’s the very soul of America.” You can’t even compare this Memorial Day speech with the garbage spewed by the Republican presidential nominee who was just rightfully booed by a large audience of Libertarians on Saturday.

The president took the opportunity to honor those killed while serving their country and also thanked veterans, survivors, and family members in the audience on Memorial Day.

Biden also spoke about the death of his son, Beau Biden, from brain cancer that he believes was linked to the toxic burn pits Beau was exposed to during his tour in Iraq. Thursday will mark the ninth anniversary of Beau Biden’s death.

The president was introduced by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who told the audience that while, “Our arms and technology are the envy of the world . . . in the end, America’s greatest strategic asset will always be our people.”

Austin added, “So, let us always remember our fallen heroes – let us always strive to defend the democracy for which they fought and died. They did their duty, and we must too.”

Before giving his annual Memorial Day Address, Biden participated in a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and in the morning hosted a breakfast in honor of Memorial Day with administration officials, military leadership, veterans, and Gold Star family members.

There is no comparison here between Dump and his opponent, President Joe Biden, who marked Memorial Day with the correct balance of solemnity and honor. Does the Orange Turd even know what honor means?

Stay safe and be well.
