Today is Friday, May 31, 2024. In the wake of yesterday’s historic guilty verdict against defendant Donald J. Duck, the entire Reputin party has shamed itself by falling into line in a futile attempt to discredit the judicial process and declare their fucking undying support of, now, a convicted felon! When the hell is this debased party ever going to give up its fealty to a thrice-time loser? This unsurprising response to Trump’s guilty verdict is the subject of Julian Zelizer’s opinion for CNN entitled “Opinion: The Republican response to Trump’s conviction is telling.”

The former president who was just declared guilty on all 34 felony counts remains adamantly unremorseful, which is his modus operandi. Never admit responsibility for your misdeeds, this is Trump’s motivating principle and he’s lived this for his 78 years. So why would anyone believe he would change now? He won’t.

Here then are some shameful responses from the sycophantic party of Dump in the wake of this guilty verdict: Florida Senator Marco Rubio argued the trial was “conducted by an openly pro-Biden Judge.” False! Another worthless senator, this time, Texas Senator Ted “Ooze” said that Merchan “should have worn a Biden campaign hat while he sat on the bench.” Also untrue! Even Senate Minority Leader “Bitch” McConnell, who is responsible for the Dump Frankenstein monster when he could have convicted him both times in the Senate during his two impeachments and failed to do, wrote that the trial “never should have been brought in the first place.” Fuck, what does he know then? This bastard has even indicated he would support the newly convicted felon in the 2024 election. I doubt he will change his vote, given Dump’s conviction.

The intensity of Reputin support is so strong that when Larry Hogan, a moderate Republican and former Maryland governor who stands an excellent chance of winning the state’s open U.S. Senate seat, urged voters to “respect” the verdict – which is the sane response that lawmakers should be taking now – fellow party members jumped all over him. A campaign adviser to Drumpf, Chris LaCivita, went so far as to say that Hogan’s campaign is over. Let’s hope he is proven wrong here.

What is even more appalling is that Drumpf’s campaign went into full fundraising mode, reportedly raking in more than $34 million in the hours after his conviction.

President Joe Biden went on today to declare Dump’s idiotic comments over his conviction as being “reckless,” and “it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged, just because they don’t like the verdict.” Biden should criticize his fellow Reputin lawmakers for saying the same thing about the judicial process in New York. Biden’s communications director, Michael Tyler, took a slightly stronger stance, saying, “America just witnessed a confused, desperate, and defeated Donald Trump ramble about his own personal grievances and lie about the American justice system, leaving anyone watching with one obvious conclusion: This man cannot be president of the United States.” Amen!

More shameful Reputins rushed in to defend the Orange Turd and the chorus of denunciations of the judicial process and the jury’s verdict was positively nauseating. House Speaker MAGA Mike decried what he described as “the weaponization of our justice system.” He said in a statement, “President Trump will rightfully appeal this absurd verdict – and he WILL WIN.” He learned this stylistic feature from Drumpf himself.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise wrote on social media, “I won’t stand by while the leader of our party is ambushed by our own government. Will you stand with Trump before midnight tonight and condemn this witch hunt once and for all?” The shameless Louisiana Reputin included a link to a fundraising site.

Another sycophant, New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, the House GOP Conference Chair and a potential Drumpf running mate pick (God help us!), slammed what she referred to as a “sham trial.” In a statement, Stefanik rallied around her Supreme Leader, saying, “We must redouble our efforts and work around the clock to ensure President Trump is victorious this November to save America from Biden’s failed Far Left Democrat agenda.” What she said here is pure bullshit.

Another Drumpf apple polisher, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who is also a possible Drumpf running mate, claimed yesterday that the U.S. justice system “hunts Republicans while protecting Democrats.” Totally false! Did he ever hear of Senator Bob Menendez’s current trial here in New York. The senator is a Democrat, the latest I checked.

Instead of applauding the system that worked brilliantly, these jellyfish decided they still could not cut their ties to the Orange Turd for whatever inexplicable reason. That is why it’s my prediction that Republicans will lose bigly in November.
