And So It Goes

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, February 9, 2025. Are you like me scratching your head in disbelief over what the Orange Ogre has done to upend the federal government in just three weeks or so without any pushback from the Democratic Party? Aren’t you wondering where is that Democratic opposition to the foul things the Orange Turd has enacted in so short a time in his administration? An online article in today’s The Hill outlines one action Democrats are considering to voice their opposition to the actions that Chump has taken, along with the full cooperation of his billionaire crony, Elon Musk, or Muskrat, as I now refer to him. The article is entitled “Democratic senator says his party is ready to shut down government over Trump’s actions,” and it’s by Lauren Irwin.

Today Democratic Senator Andy Kim (NJ) was interviewed on NBC’s “Meet the Press” in which he said he and his fellow Democrats are ready to shut down the federal government over president Drumpf’s recent extralegal actions. Kim stated, “I cannot support efforts that will continue this lawlessness that we’re seeing when it comes to this administration’s actions.” He added, “And for us to be able to support government funding in that way only for them to turn it around, to dismantle the government. That is not something that should be allowed.”

As Dump continues to steamroll over constitutional norms, it’s Democrats who have grown frustrated with what’s going on in Washington over the last three weeks. Many are now calling for them to stage an aggressive reaction to this unconstitutional activity.

Kim said his party is ready to shut down the federal government over the various actions, including shuttering the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Muskrat’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) having access to federal payment systems.

Kim tried to push back that he relishes this drastic action since he said he “would be the last person who would want to get to that stage, but we are at a point where we are basically on the cusp of a constitutional crisis.” He added, “Seeing this administration taking steps that are so clearly illegal.”

Understandably, Dump has received sharp criticism for taking these recent actions, including saying he wanted to take over Gaza. Some Democrats have said the idea would amount to “ethnic cleansing” and say it’s a distraction from all of the action within the federal agencies.

Last weekend, DOGE officials gained access to the Treasury Department’s federal payment system, which controls $6 trillion annually and has access to Americans’ tax records. Pretty scary stuff, wouldn’t you say? The president when asked about this unwanted access just says Muskrat’s squad of smooth-faced goons is rooting out billions of dollars worth of fraud – with no discernible evidence at all.

In conclusion, Kim mentioned, “In a few weeks, the Republicans are going to try to figure out how they move forward and they have, for the last two years, needed Democratic votes for every single continuing resolution and they should not count on that this time.” Let’s hope Democrats find their spine at that moment and let them move as one body finally, just like those awful repugnicans.

In the meantime, the odious Muskrat is calling for the impeachment of the judge who rightfully ruled against his infiltration into the Treasury Department. What the fuck! U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer, an appointee of former President Obama, in his ruling ordered anyone who is now blocked from access to the Treasury Department payment system, which doles out trillions of dollars, to immediately destroy any material they’ve already downloaded. God forbid they downloaded your or my personal information so far! I’m positive that Americans would not desire this kind of intrusion into their sensitive payment information from a nonelected government official like Elon Musk. So far, this is only a temporary pause, not a permanent one.

As you know, I didn’t watch today’s Stupid Bowl. What garnered a lot of attention is that the Orange Turd actually attended the game – for what reason, no one can ascertain – making him the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, which featured the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles. I’m hearing on X right now that people in the stadium booed the liar in chief as he took to his seat. I wish the boos were loud enough for him to actually hear them.

And so it went!
