And So It Goes

Today is Monday, March 3, 2025. This is a good sign for the ogre in charge of the U.S. government in which the liar in chief is ready to address his second Address to a Joint Session of Congress tomorrow night – which I will happily ditch for something far better like watching paint dry – in an online AlterNet article by David Badash entitled “‘Will be big’: Trump faces dangerous warning signs ahead of address to Congress.” So this article tells the truth about what the Orange Menace is facing as he takes the podium without me watching. Here are the signs: “Public polls show declining approval, congressional town halls are boiling over with frustration, nationwide protests continue to mount, and economic reports paint a troubling picture.” His attack on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has sparked a global wave of support for Ukraine. “At home, federal judges have repeatedly struck down his executive orders as unlawful, unconstitutional, and overreaching.” Elon Musk – whom I call “Muskrat” – and his widely unpopular DOGE which I renamed it as “Damn Oligarchs Grab Everything” – have added to the administration’s troubles, underlying deepening fractures within Dump’s own party that threaten to undermine his own agenda. Thank God!

Aware of the stakes tomorrow, the malignant liar stated, “Tomorrow night will be big. I will tell it like is!” Shit! We all know he will tell his own version of the way he thinks the reality is, which does not square with reality at all. That is why I won’t watch this son of a bitch posing as president tomorrow. He had the balls to rewrite the truth behind these explosive town halls, declaring that paid “troublemakers” are attending these Republican town hall meetings and are sowing division and anger. What a fucking lie! So in his own deranged mind, he thinks average citizens are not voicing their anger at his fucking unpopular actions. He even had the temerity to say that he won by a landslide. This bastard won only by a mere 1.5 percentage points, in one of the smallest popular vote margins in modern history. Why is this man even president?

In terms of the economy, the country is now pointing to an imminent recession under Dump – not Biden. Also this psychopath campaigned on lowering the cost of “groceries” on his first day. If you really believed that, I have a bridge I can sell you on the cheap. That has unsurprisingly not come to pass, and Americans are pissed off about it.

Today, the financial markets reacted to Dump’s affirmation that his announced tariffs on Canada and Mexico will go into effect at midnight, tariffs that are being described as “one of the most self-destructive economic policy steps in recent history.” The DOW plummeted nearly 700 points (1.58%), after dropping over 800 points in the hours before trading ended. The tech-heavy NASDAQ did even worse, dropping almost 500 points, or, 2.61%. CNBC reported the S&P posted its “biggest loss since December,” after Drumpf’s tariffs message.

Polling of this bastard’s first 42 days in office – God help us – is also trending downward. A CBS News/YouGov poll that dropped yesterday was also damaging. Now 56 percent said things are going “badly” under Dump. I’m surprised it’s not 80 percent or higher. The issues that voters think Dump is focusing on the most (the border, tariffs, and the federal workforce/DOGE) are dramatically different from those they want him to focus on (the economy, inflation, government spending). But according to the bum, he thinks everything is fine and under control. Folks, this guy is operating in another universe and he’s president of the United States?

Also, respondents correctly believe that Dump’s policies are “making the price you pay for food go up.” His unwelcome tariffs are widely expected to dramatically increase the price of food. But Dump won’t acknowledge that fact.

Several Democrats have already announced that they are. Kudos to them! U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) says he will host a town hall instead of attending, which is more meaningful in my opinion than his being there. U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) told CNN Drumpf’s address will be a “farce” during which he will “spew a series of lies.” He added, “We have to fight every single day. Every single day.” He then declared, “Republicans flood the zone, Democrats have to flood the zone. They flood the zone with lies, we flood the zone with truth.”

Oh, and this little tidbit that I just saw on my smartphone: an ex-Social Security administrator warns that Americans may not see their upcoming checks within the next 30 or 90 days because of Muskrat’s cutting the workforce in the agency. If this really happens, you will see impromptu demonstrations all throughout the nation. This would mark the first time in 80 years that the system would have suffered any interruption of remunerating Americans. You can thank the South African and president Dump for this if this comes to fruition. I’ll let you know if this happens to me next Wednesday when I’m supposed to get my check.

And so it went!

Here are egg prices at my local Foodtown. Look at it and weep and thank your president for this. Even though an outbreak of bird flu has caused egg prices to skyrocket across the country. But Dump still hasn’t done anything in his six weeks in office to lower prices – not that I expected him to do this at all.
