Today is Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The security breach scandal engulfing the presidency of Dump 2.0 keeps on rolling on and the liar in chief has been caught with his apps down. So when this sleazy Orange Man is confronted with the truth of the awfulness of this situation, what does he do: he doesn’t own to the horrible lapse in national security, he attacks the editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg who was innocently caught on the chat with government officials on plans to strike in Yemen. I wrote what the jerk said yesterday; I won’t repeat it here.
Today Dump’s highly unqualified Director of National Intelligence who seems to favor Russia over her own country and CIA Director John Ratcliffe faced grilling by Democrats at a heated Senate hearing. The officials here seemed to shift responsibility on to the defense secretary, the drunkard Pete Hegseth, for sending potentially classified information in the group chat. Today during the hearing, the taciturn Tulsi Gabbard couldn’t even acknowledge to Senator Mark Warner whether she was on the group chat or not, despite persistent urging on the part of the senator. If she couldn’t say whether she was involved in the chat, doesn’t it indicate it was classified information? She wouldn’t say whether it was or not. The American people should have no faith in these damn sycophants occupying significant positions in the Dump Cabinet. They are the worst, incompetent individuals ever appointed by a president in 250 years. As I’ve indicated before, we are living under a “kakistocracy,” a government run by the least suitable or competent citizens of a state. If there’s anything to learn about this disastrous second term of the Orange Man, it’s this term.
Today I called my congressional representative Grace Meng and gave some staff person a piece of my mind as a concerned American citizen disturbed by what’s going on in Washington today. I mentioned the continuing issues of federal cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and wondered what type of a response Democrats are mounting against this administration. I provided my name and cell phone number, and let’s see if someone gets back to me, say, before next year.
Here are results of a new poll of Americans as to whether presidents should obey the courts, and this unlawful president should acknowledge the results before it’s too late. Thus in an online USA Today article by Jason Lange, the majority of Americans who believe presidents should obey the courts is a whopping 82 percent. The article is titled “Poll: Majority of Americans believe presidents should obey the courts.”
The three-day survey, which ended on Sunday, found that 82 percent of respondents – including majorities of Democrats and Republicans – agreed with a statement that the “president of the United States should obey federal court rulings even if the president does not want to.”
But with an issue in which respondents differ is the issue of immigration which is a fucking repugnican dogwhistle in which the far right loves to scapegoat hard-working migrants. Here 76 percent of Republicans agreed with a statement that “the Trump administration should continue to deport people they view as a risk despite the court order.” However, only 8 percent of Democrats backed the approach.
In its biggest clash with the courts yet on immigration, the Chump administration invoked a rarely used 18th-century law to deport migrants it said [operative words here: “it said,” without due process] were part of a Venezuelan gang, despite a judge’s order temporarily banning the removal of people from the United States under that law.
The dictatorial administration did not return two deportation flights already in the air at the time of the order, raising questions about whether the administration willfully violated the order. Of course, this shit bag supposedly won the election after promising mass deportations of historic proportions.
Who can believe that this deluded man’s approval rating is actually higher now: 45 percent of respondents to the poll said they approved of his performance. Could this be real? Not surprisingly, Dump gets the highest marks on immigration.
Also not surprisingly, his ratings are considerably lower on other matters. Only 38 percent of respondents approved of Dump’s stewardship of the U.S. economy [egg prices are still through the roof!]. Thirty-four percent said he was doing a good job on the cost of living in America. Some 37 percent said he was doing well on foreign policy.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll surveyed 1, 030 U.S. adults nationwide. The poll was conducted online and had a margin of error of about 3 percentage points.
My prediction is that if Dump continues to use a sledgehammer to federal programs and initiates tariffs on goods coming from other countries, his ratings will plummet precipitously.
And so it went!
