Today is Thursday, March 27, 2025. In the ongoing blowback over the scandalous leaking of war plans on an unsecured app, a story that Dump would love to go away – and it won’t, thank God! – a federal judge today ordered key Chump administration agencies to preserve messages sent on Signal between March 11 and March 15.
The name of the judge should be familiar to those who are keeping close attention on the fuckup in the White House because he’s the same judge who intervened in the unlawful detention of alleged Venezuelan gang members a little while ago. He’s Judge James Boasberg who made the ruling in a preservation lawsuit brought in the wake of the revelation that Cabinet officials were discussing strike plans on Signal. This breaking development is covered in an online CNN article by Tierney Sneed entitled “Judge orders Trump administration to keep Signal records amid Yemen attack chat controversy.”
Boasberg’s temporary restraining order also directs the “dys-administration” (my own coinage here!) to file a status report Monday, accompanied with declarations from government officials, explaining the steps the agencies were taking to preserve the messages.
The messages in question include exchanges about U.S. military strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. The Atlantic reported earlier this week that just hours before the March 15 strikes, top members of president Donald Chump’s Cabinet discussed detailed operational plans in a Signal group thread.
Here’s more blowback that the Dump dys-administration is terrified of: a day after the disclosure of this leak, a watchdog group filed a lawsuit accusing the Cabinet officials on the chat of violating federal records law. It’s very apparent from the bits that I shared yesterday that the details shared on the group chat were classified, not what the Dump dys-administration contends: that it was not classified.
American Oversight, the nonprofit advocacy group that brought the records-preservation lawsuit, said Thursday’s ruling “marks an important step toward accountability.” The group asked in the lawsuit for the federal courts to force Dump officials to do better record-keeping.
Prior to the hearing, the Treasury Department said it has already tracked down and preserved a “partial” version of the chat for federal record-keeping purposes. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was part of the March 15 Signal chat, and the text of those messages are now preserved, a department official wrote to the court in a sworn statement.
It’s still early to ascertain whether this dys-administration will face accountability over this shocking lack of discretion executed on March 15 in which a magazine editor in chief was accidentally included.
Little Donnie’s niece, Dr. Mary Trump, mentioned in a post today that the new scandal to engulf the Dump dys-administration which is now dubbed “Signalgate,” is a “golden opportunity” for Democrats to hammer the White House on national security practices.
Mary Trump stated that officials who were caught with their apps down tried to deflect from the severity of the situation by attacking the journalist who was accidentally included on the group chat, who was actually there at their invitation, either intentional or otherwise. She said, “They’ve been caught red-handed.” She thinks it will come down to whether repugnicans in the Senate “care enough to do something.” Here I think she has too much faith in these fucking cowards who haven’t done anything ever since he has occupied the White House.
“They know, to a person, how serious this is,” said Dr. Trump. “In a sane world, they understand that every single traitor in that chat would be fired and tried under the Espionage Act.” Too bad we are not in a sane world for a very long time due primarily nnto one person.
Conversely, how Democrats handle the scandal will also make a difference, she said.
“This is a golden opportunity for them to take up this cause and make it clear to the American people that they, and they alone, care about the national security of this country and for the citizens in it.”
As I concluded yesterday, let’s see if Dems step up to the plate of excoriating this fucking incompetent dys-administration under an unserious, amateurish leader and hold them accountable before people are killed because of their ineptitude.
I want Democrats to pounce the Dump Cabinet with cries for the resignations of these officials from today forward. Now is the time to strike back and I’m not writing about striking back at Youthis in Yemen.
And so it went!
