And So It Goes

Today is Thursday, January 15, 2026. Americans are reacting in ever-growing waves of revulsion over the continued misuse of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to crack down on immigrants and, even, U.S. citizens primarily in blue states to the point of seeking Congress to abolish it or reel it in by several yards. The fact of ICE’s aggression toward U.S. citizens was the focal point of a MS Now online article by Allison Detzel entitled “ICE’s aggressive tactics are causing ‘a rising tide of revulsion’ among Americans.”

Yesterday on Nicolle Wallace’s program “Deadline: White House,” Wallace explained how the aggressive tactics used by ICE have led to growing support for Congress to abolish the agency. She said, “Faced with scene after scene after scene of increasingly brutal conduct by federal agents – often targeted at U.S. citizens these days – and an avalanche of disinformation from Donald Trump and his Cabinet about what the Trump administration is actually doing on our streets and in our cities, the American people are, at least for now, choosing to believe their own eyes and their own ears.”

Wallace referred to a new Economist/YouGov poll that showed, in her own words,
growing numbers of Americans reacting to the Trump administration with a rising tide of revulsion and conviction to resist efforts to militarize American cities.”

According to the poll, half of Americans believe the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent was not justified. Almost the same share, 47 percent, said the agency is making the country less safe. Especially when American citizens are being stopped, beaten, or even killed by these mirror image Gestapo agents.

When it came to the abolition of the agency altogether, 46 percent told pollsters they supported the idea. Wallace described this as “a dramatic, seismic political swing,” which, she argued, was “the consequence” of Americans watching what has unfolded in Minneapolis since Good’s murder last week.

On her show, Wallace played clips of recent interactions between residents and federal immigration agents in the city, in which the officers used increasingly violent, inappropriate tactics. In one video, ICE agents can be seen pulling a woman out of her car, even after she told them she was disabled and on her way to a doctor’s appointment. Another video showed an officer kneeling on the neck of a protester.

The nightly MS Now news anchor noted that this was “a particularly shocking and disturbing and jarring image from any standpoint, much less Minneapolis, where George Floyd was murdered five years ago.”

According to Wallace, the backlash is now so widespread that it has transcended partisan divides. “This isn’t really right, left,” she explained; it has now entered the “territory of government overreach and what do you want your government to do in the name of its citizens.” Well, folks, at least on this one burning issue, Americans are not divided: the Emperor in the White House, “Shitler,” is not doing a great job of safeguarding his voters, both right or left. These strong-arm tactics could spark a revolution on the streets which, I hope, does not result in this Orange Turd invoking the Insurrection Act to quell what he falsely perceives as chaos on city streets. Oops, he’s already hinted at doing this, the fucking putz.

The Insurrection Act is a rarely used law enacted in 1792 that allows the commander in chief to deploy the U.S. military domestically and use it against American civilians. If that ever happened, this country would devolve into third world status, thus becoming a banana republic.

The governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, and mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, have urged the idiot to tamp down his fiery rhetoric about using the Insurrection Act against American citizens. Tensions rose further in the city when another ICE agent shot and injured a Venezuelan man, igniting hours of clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers in the state’s most populous city. The shooting occurred just one week after Renee Good was shot to death in her vehicle just blocks from her home.

In response to this mayhem caused by the Grump regime, the ACLU of Minnesota filed a class-action lawsuit against the Chump administration over the ICE operations, arguing that federal agencies including ICE and Customs and Border Protection violated constitutional rights.

Adding fuel to the fire, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Dump’s own private lapdog of an attorney, called the Minneapolis protests an “insurrection,” which they are definitely not, in a post on X last night, adding they are “a direct result of a FAILED governor and a TERRIBLE mayor encouraging violence against law enforcement. It’s disgusting.” No, Mr. Blanche, your assessment of nonviolent protest is disgusting here!

In the spirit of nonviolent protest, I myself signed up to demonstrate this coming Tuesday in Bryant Park, at 4. I’m not sure why this one is called for at that time, but that’s what I’ve read. It’s part of a Women’s March, I believe. This will be my fourth protest since Shitler retook office.

Now I’m announcing that Elliot and I are driving to Massachusetts tomorrow to spend the weekend with Elliot’s daughter, “Jody,” her husband, “Norbert,” and their daughter, “Sally.” We are staying with them until Sunday, so my next blog should be Sunday night if we don’t get in too late.

Have a great weekend. Keep the faith that somehow this horrible situation will end on a hopeful note for all of us!

And so it went!
